Katherine Singer Kovacs (1946-1989) was a professor of literature and film studies and editor of The Quarterly Review of Film and Video. At the 2021 SCMS Annual Conference, the Katherine Singer Kovács award is presented for outstanding scholarship in cinema and media studies
