Fran Dennstedt (Hispanic Cultures) organized a panel for the Latin American Studies Association Conference (LASA, May 2018) entitled "Queer Female Bodies in Mexican Cultural Production," where she presented the paper, "'Take Magic Mushrooms with Muxe Maravilha': temporalidades cuir a través de Guadalupe y Carmín Tropical." An article based on this topic will appear in the next issue of Arizona Journal of Hispanic Cultural Studies. She also cofounded and is currently co-president of the Association of Gender Minority and Women Graduate Students (GeMWGS) at Washington University in St. Louis.
